Farewell to Boot camp Group.....

Just returned from Great Lakes.  My son is officially a Sailor in the US Navy.  PIR was October 9.  Incredibly proud moment and a great ceremony.  He was in Div 948 so they were already in the ceremony hall when we arrived and we had a chance to visit and talk for a while before graduation. His mom loved the extra time.  His A school is at Great Lakes so we got to spend the weekend with him.  Can't really describe how it felt to see him walking tall and proud in his uniform.

With that, I bid a fond farewell to the Boot Camp group.  Good luck to all recruit parents and to your recruits.  PIR will be here before you know it. When you go to your recruits PIR, I highly recommend attending Sarges "Meet and Greet" the Thursday evening before graduation.  It was fun and there was a lot of good information about graduation day, getting to and from RTC, as well as the rules and do's and dont's for weekend liberty.  This man cares deeply about the recruits and sailors at Great Lakes and their families.  He puts on this event every week out of the goodness of his heart and with money out of his own pocket. He asks for nothing from the families but donations are accepted. Please go and support him if you are able.  There are links to register here on Navy Dads or you can simply Google "sarges meet and greet".
