Got our first phone call over the weekend. He sounded in good spirits. Says its not as hard as he thought it was going to be. He said one of the hardest things so far is learning to fold clothes the "Navy way". It does not surprise me that he finds that hard since he has never folded clothes in his life. He is in the flag drumline in the music division (948). Said they will be performing in the 2 PIR's prior to his. Really looking forward to watching those on line. Of course not as much as we are looking forward to seeing him perform at his PIR on 10/9.

He shipped on Aug 11. First 5 days are processing days. First actual basic training week starts on the first Sunday. 8 weeks after that. Your daughter's PIR should be Oct 30. Good luck to you and her.
