First Phone Call Today - Ship 12 Div 226

We received our first phone call today. I missed it but my wife was able to spend about 20 min on the phone with our son. He said that he was only getting 3-4 hours of sleep a night. He is the starboard watch section leader and he has to be present for every change in the guard. I was wondering if he will get any relief or if he will have this assignment all the way through basic. Told him to hang in there because it is on the down side now ... graduation day is July 8 ... he is really looking forward to graduating. Thanks for this forum .... any other Dads out there with a son or daughter in 12 - 226?

  • My son is also Ship 12 Div 226. As far as the PIR on July 8th, do you know the best places to stay? I've seen a few ideas but with the date fast approaching, I would like to get it figured at soon. Greatly appreciate any thoughts.

  • Yep ... July 8th won't get here fast enough. My wife and I told him to always call on his Mom's cell.  My wife had been getting unsolicited sales calls on her cell. She did not recognize the number and was expecting a sales pitch. She was totally unprepared and told the caller that he had a wrong number ... LOL. He replied "it's me Mom" ... think she just about ran off the road!
  • I do, I think it's the same young man.
