Going to PIR Aug. 24th.

My older son and I are planning to drive up from SC. Any tips or facts you can give would be great. What can my sailor take to A school with him; cell phone, clothes lap top? Do I get my passes before I leave or at the gate? where to stay, what time do I want to be at the gate? ........

    Jerry, the SR's are issued a black back pack at GL but after 8 weeks they are usually falling apart. We purchased an all black back pack from one of the armed forces websites and it fit my sons laptop along with all of the other stuff he had. Have fun on August 24th, the adminstrators of Navy Dads will back me up on this: PIR is truly amazing. Hooyah.
