  • Why is your son wanting to change rates?  Sometimes it is hard to change, sometimes not.  Always a need for DC.  If he finds another rate he wants, go for it!

Hello, my son will also be PIR on the 15th of April. I am also a Navy vet. I was an MM2 when I got out way back when. My son is trying to change his rate from DC to ??. I told him he would be very lucky if that happened. We will be staying at the NAvy Lodge on base when we come for PIR. Father in law is retired Navy.

My sons name is Patrick.  We are from St Louis.  I'm a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander.  If the PIR is in Blues I will wear my uniform.  If whites, nope.  I gained too much weight to fit in summer whites since retiring in Jan 2009.  My son is leaving for Mississippi on April 16th for Logistics School.  Where are you coming in from?  How is your son doing?  My son wrote once and called once.  He used part of his call time to call a friend or two.  He knows the Navy, especially Little Creek Amphibious Base, Norfolk Va,  So I didn't expect many letters or calls
