Does the "I'm a Sailor" call always happen? Our son is supposed to graduate on Friday and I was hoping that we would get that call this morning. Can someone confirm that it always happens or sometimes it doesn't? Thanks

If staying in Great Lakes they will have weekend liberty as always.....Monday no. Will have to be on base each night and may have weekend duty at some point. All liberty rules hold as always
if they are shipping out for A-school they will leave on Saturday.....

You will need that pass each time you pick up and drop off your sailor all during the weekend. That pass is only good for the weekend.

I poured everything I could into raising my son. Boot camp was the first time that I didn't see him for more than a couple of days.
The joy, excitement, and pride that you will feel when you see your sailor enter the building will overwhelm you. Boot camp has changed both the sailor & the parents.
Enjoy your day, congrats to all the new Navy families.
