One big surprise for me -- so far -- has been watching people post about their recruit being in this Ship or that Division, and then watching all the PIR dates as they are posted. It looks to me like the Navy is attracting more recruits than I ever would have believed. Does anyone have any information about just how many recruits march through RTC in, say, a month's time?

you can follow along with the number of division at the PIR Dates link at:http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp
They recieve a new set of recruits each week and have a PRI, it appears, each week. With about 80 per ship and an unknown at leaast to me, number of divisions, appears to be in the thousands. Kudos and Great Job to all the staff and personel that make that happen.
My daughter's PIR on 8/26 had 952 new sailors.
Thanks Paul. Wow, before all this began, I never would have imagined it was that many.
I'm guessing each PIR is averaging about 650-800 sailors these days so about 2600-3200/month as a rough guess....
