  • He is in DIV 101, I really don't know what the division numbers mean, but he called 2 more times since I posted this. He is in a push division and he also just told me his division is an honor division? Don't know what that means either....
  • Policy is that the recruits are entitled to exactly TWO phone calls..."I'm here..." and "I'm a sailor" after Battle Stations.  Other calls are at the descretion of the RDCs and are earned and lost as a division. Usually after week 3 they are allowed a "I'm still alive...." call and after week 4 things generally loosen up a little and they might get another call or two.  Don't count on them however--- when in the fleet you can go a looooooong time without calls......As Gary said....write your letters !!!!!!

  • More specifically, it depends on how well their division is doing and what their schedule allows. But yes we got several phone calls from our Son. I can think of about 4 or 5 instances. While I know that the phone calls are probably very important to you, hand written letters are probably even more important to your recruit. I recommend a minimum of one letter per week from mom and dad. Also, get as many friends, and family to write as possible. My son really couldn't quite explain how important and encouraging it was to him to receive those letters.

  • depends on what division their in?
