My son Brian is supposed to graduate on april the 8th. We haven't heard from him for a while and I was just wondering if any of the Navy Dads have recruits in this division 921 ship 02 and have any input on how they are progressing.

We recieved a letter from our son today, and said he was very busy getting ready for battlestations. He said they were having constant inspections everyday. Brian sounded very upbeat in his letter and is anxious to see us at his graduation. He took my advice about ordering the dvd and the book about bootcamp that is only available when offered. thank you to ever posted this information before.
My wife was very emotional because she hadn't heard from him for while. I think she is finally realizing that it is not just for 8 weeks of bootcamp, but for a couple of years. I miss Brian as much as she does , so I told her she wasn't loosing a son but instead she is gaining a sailor!
Ray hope Chris is over his sinus infection and everything is going well with your family.

Believe me, I am wearing all my Navy paraphernalia out from the inside outward!
Everyone here is well, Chris' head is draining, and he is going to the family doc tomorrow or Wednesday to get some of that good antibiotic crap! He's doing a LOT of sleeping, like he's making up for four and a half months worth of deprivation...before he heads down to NavSta Norfolk in a bit for his duty station assignment. Oohrah!
Ray thanks buddy I had forgot that old adage! Brian wrote us a letter on Feb. 25th. and then a phone call followed shortly after. When I talked to Brian's recruiter he said they don't do as much marching now as in the past and maybe an hour of pt training a day. Brian said they were marching in the snow and now out in the rain as well, and on top of it all he got a cold. Ray how do they keep their shoes presentable if they are out there marching in the elements?
We look forward to seeing our sailor as I am sure he is looking forward to seeing us. I hope everything is going alright for you , your wife and of course Chris .
Friends of ours were down in Pensicola, Florida recently and stopped at the Naval Air Museum there and of course the gift shop. They brought back a Navy hat and this unbelieveable shirt. It has the wording on the back" Onward to victory with the American Eagle grasping an anchor in its claws , and under the claws, the words defending our freedom The U. S. Navy! I wear it everywhere!1
God speed to all our sailors everywhere
Keep in touch and thank you

Thanks for the information. We still have not heard from Brian as of today, the 21st. of March. I am glad you are hearing from your sailor and he is doing fine. I have no doubt that Brian is doing fine as well, but it would be nice to hear from him again at least for his mother's peace of mind. What week is your son in now and why did he refer it as hell week comming up?
I was trying to reflect on my time in basic training and what they were going through, but I was in during the vietnam conflict and it was a life or death drama every day. Keep in touch and maybe we can meet and greet at our sailor's graduation.
Best wishes to you and your family.
