Got our form letter from our daughter on Friday 080913! Very Excited!! Pretty sure she is in an Integrated Division. Just wanted to create a space to reach out and keep in touch with those of you with SR's in the same Ship and Division.
My daughter's rate will be STG once she completes "A" School. From what my wife (who basically LIVES on navyformoms.com lately) and I have been able to gather, there may actually be one or more STG's in her or her sister division, which we think is 365.
We live in Las Vegas and will be there for PIR. We have already secured plane tickets, hotel room, and car rental.
Hope to hear from some of you out there. Hooyah Navy!

Congrats Jeffrey! Glad to hear you got that call. We got ours on Monday. What a long day that was waiting for it to come through! Our daughter said they had been up for about 36 hours but was on such a rush she didn't feel tired, but was really looking for an early taps that night. I could hear it in her voice though, she was tired! Hope to see you sometime Thurs/Fri! Just 2 and a wake up gents!!!
Congrats Jeffrey, We got our calls Monday and what a relief it was. Waited with the phone by my side all day! My son also sounded very happy but tired. Hope they have energy for us all on Friday. Hope to have the chance to meet you at Sarges or graduation.
My son is Ship 03 Div 368, the division RCPO. We (my wife actually - I was at work) just got the "I'm a Sailor" call. She said he sounded happy but very tired (go figure). Can't wait to see him Friday.
Congratulations to our sailors and to the rest of the graduating sailors. Had a great hour long talk with Mike. We are so proud of his accomplishment and the fact the division all came together. He said BS 21 wasn't to bad, but was a long day. I could tell he was happy, excited, and tired. Said they get a couple extra hours of sleep tonight. Had Taco Bell today and a Mountain Dew. Said it tasted great. Was his first soda in two months.Sounds like they will spend the rest of the week practicing for graduation. He said they still suck a little at marching. Thinks they will get to call a few times this week. Glad this first stage is over and done. Mike still thinks he flies out at midnight Friday. Said he gets his plane tickets tomorrow. So that means he has to check back in at 6 pm. Not as long a visit as I had hoped, but I'll take every minute I get. Can't wait till Thursday and Friday. See you all at Sarges.
Congrats guys!!! PIR will blow your mind-- prepare to show pride!!!!
We are so proud of his and the divisions accomplishments. We talked for about an hour in between the static from the pay phone. Congrats to Mike and Savannah. See you all Thursday Night at dinner with the Sarge. God Bless and safe travels to all.
GO NAVY!!!!!
Gents! Just got off the phone with Savannah! She's a Sailor!! We talked for over an hour. She sounded great! I'm so emotional right now, I honestly don't know what to say from here. I'm so proud of her. It was awesome to hear how grown up she sounded. She told us we were right! About a couple of things! Man.....my cup runneth over.
Can't wait to see you guys on Thursday. Talk soon!
SHE'S A SAILOR!!!!
Lance, thanks for the prayers! // Yup, we will be at Sarge's. For sure myself, Amy, and our son, possibly my Mom and Dad. We are flying into Midway and having Sarge pick us up and he is taking us to the Hertz office in Waukegan where we'll be getting our car. It was LOTS cheaper getting a vehicle at a local place rather than the airport. // Really looking forward to meeting the both of you as well. I am getting so antsy, I can't hardly sit still at all lately!
Jason, Hope that "Subzero" is feeling better soon. She has a big week coming up. BS21, Graduation and a family visit. Wouldn't want to be sick for any of that. Will have her in our prayers.
HI Guys, The mail must be moving a little faster these days. Got our letter today instead of Friday. Mike sounded really good in his letter and I could tell he is excited to be graduating next week. Is looking forward to BS21 next week and said to expect a call early in the week. Ordered his picture package and DVD of graduation. Was happy because he thought his pictures turned out nice. He said his dress uniform has two ribbons on it. One for Defense and the other for Sharpshooter. He also has two green stripes on them for Airman Apprentice. It sounds like things are starting to happen that are finally getting him excited and he can see the rewards of his efforts. Also mentioned that their division had received all the flags except one phase flag that their brother division "screwed them out of ''. He didn't elaborate on the issue but I could tell he wasn't happy. He said the Captains Cup was coming up and that their ship had won it the last few months and they were hoping to keep it. It sounds like a competition between divisions. He is very competitive so I'm sure he is looking forward to it. He will be running the mile and a half relay sprint. He is looking forward to watching his first college football game this year. He is really into college football and I know its killing him to be missing all these games. The only bad news was that he was told he would probably fly out to Florida Friday at midnight. I'm thinking that will cut into our Friday night dinner together. We were also hoping we might get to spend a little time on Sat with him. Oh well, it is what it is. His A school is 18 weeks long. If it starts up right away, that gets him being done late Jan. I heard that after A school they get two weeks off. Its's funny how just over a month ago my wife and I were so worried because we hadn't heard from Mike when everyone else was getting calls and letters. I didn't really think I would worry to much about him. Was I wrong! He and I are to much alike and we have a tendency to butt heads quite often. He also has very little patience for people some times. He expects to much, wants you to get straight to the point, and thinks everyone should know what he knows. I have told him time and again that he need so start showing a little patience for others. I think he tries some times, but has a hard time. When he told us he wanted to join the Navy, I though it would be the best thing ever. He would now be the one who doesn't know anything and maybe it would humble him a little. Well I think something finally must have hit home with him. I can see in his last letter that my son who left here a boy is now becoming a man...He mentioned in his letter that he was so thankful for the things in his life and that he had taken to many things for granted. His words really hit me. Thank you God and thank you Navy. And I want to thank you guys also for helping my wife and I get through that first month. We were so in the dark not knowing what was going on or why we weren't hearing from him. Even though you know its probably something simple, you can't help but worry. I hate that... So thank you for sharing your letters from Savannah and Pete. It really meant a lot. I look forward to meeting you both and you families and of course, Savannah and Pete. Will you be attending Sarges ''Meet and Greet"? We will be flying into Chicago around 1 pm. We rented a car and then on to the Navy Lodge. Should have plenty of time to freshen up before the get together. Hope to see you there and if not, will be sure to track you down at Graduation. It's been a pleasure talking with you both. Looking forward to sharing next weeks call with you and vise versa. Good luck to them all.
