We just heard from my s/r, he says a lot of s/r 's are sick in his division. Has anybody else heard from their s/r in this division and how are they doing as a whole? Does anyone know if you can take a taxi to pick up s/r to adopt a sailor?Will they allow that?

I scouted hotels prior to coming up for Christmas and found the Courtyard had some features I thought our SR might enjoy - indoor heated pool, Starbucks in front and the rates seemed better (special rates for hte Navy PIR and other events as well as very helpful staff  - depending on how many people you have coming, they also had rooms that could accomodate 4-5 people which was what I booked

We'll be getting in mid afternoon on TH the 8th with flight landing around 1pm and driving a rental to the hotel.

Was surprised to not hear from my SR this weekend and just wondered if you did

I have to say it was great to be able to treat the boys to a day off around town and hope you and your wife had a good visit.  I didn't get a chance to say hello but did wave as I chatted with your wife as we waited in line at 'Adopt a Sailor' and hope we all get to meet up at PIR.  If you're bringing more than those that have tickets to PIR and want to stay at a hotel that will be live streaming it in their lobby, the Courtyard Marriott will assuming the live feed from RTC is working as they've occasionally had issues with the feed.

Susie has my cell # and welcome being in touch as well as meeting in person.

Question for the admins or those that have experienced the 'Adopt a Sailor' opporutnity.

Looking for recomendations on Navy Lodge v Springhill Suites / Marriott Courtyard or other options for the one night before Christmas?

Suggestions for the day in the area ?  Good restaurants that are open? How do most tend to spend the day with their recruit and other adopted from the division?

Or do most tend to spend the day at RTC?

His Phone number is 847-212-0246.Give him a call, sarge is very informative
And seems to look out for your best interest.His rates are reasonable compared with other taxi's.Plus he is not charging the double rates to Navy families like other taxi's will be on Chistmas day.
