  • Eight weeks of waiting, today my baby girl graduates from boot camp.

  • Hi,I wanted to remind everyone that we can now print the parking/gate pass from the RTC website. See you all there! Thanks,Steve L.
  • Thanks Randall (Randy),

It's been a rough 5 weeks and now going on week 6.  She is really changing, which was expected, and her letters have also been upbeat.  She is in the 937 as a non-performer but really enjoys her division. We hope to make it to her PIR on the 27th. We have only 3 kids, my oldest son, just arrived at Great Lakes on Tuesday and has began his career in the Navy. We have one son left at home but he is only 2 and half years old.

We rec'd 4 letters from her yesterday and really happy to hear that she is doing well and adjusting tio the life of a recruit and hopefully will pass the rest of her tests and hopefully their division passes Battle Stations.  She mentioned that they have a baby division that they are sharing their bunks with whuich was Div 940.

My daughter said that the other recruits couldn't beleive how she could put up with the screaming of their  Petty officers, and she jokingly told them, these guys are nothing compared to my mom, and she raised me my whole life.

I hope all goes well with your daughter.

Hello Michael, we just got our first real letter from our daughter who is in ship 02 939. Her PIR is August 10. Did you know that they post photos of all of the graduations on the Recruit Training Command facebook site? Since your duaghter is in a 900 division and attends all PIRs, chances are that you may get a glimpse of her before her PIR.

My daughters letter was generally upbeat, but I could tell it wasn't the most pleasant time in her life.  She did have one advantage in that she has spent the last 4 years in a military college, so she knows what it's like to be yelled at.

I wish the best for your daughter and keep encouraging her to stick with it.

Finally got our 1st call from Marie Friday morning at 11:00am, since she began bootcamp. She was crying on the phone so much that I thought that she was hurt. I asked what happened thinking that she was injured in boot camp but she settled down and said that I miss you dad! I miss all of you so much. She had me crying and I told her that she needs to stick it out, she's already completed 3 weeks and has 5 left, she can do it. I talked to her for a few minutes and said that they were only given p17 mintues to make their call to home, so she said that she was going to call, Mom and everyone else that she can talk to in 17 minutes. She eventually got hold of 5 more people and then called me.
