Thanks for the advice, I will start those now. He called last night when he arrived in GL, sounded a little scared over the phone. However, I assume that is to be expected.

Within about a week you should get his civvies box (all of his civilian items he went to GL with like mobile phone, t-shirt, jeans, shoes, etc...). Then you should receive a "form letter" roughly about the following week in the mail via USPS. This is very important as it will have his Ship and DIVISION number, mailing address and graduation info...
I started drafting letters to my son before I even knew the mailing address. Once I got it I just stamped and mailed them all. Keep writing to your SR as often as possible...
In about a week or so you'll get "the box" with his belongings that he had with him when he left but couldn't keep. A few days after that you should get a form letter with his address in it and information about his Pass in Review (PIR) date. We started writing as soon as our daughter left and then sent the letters when we got the address. We talked to her yesterday and she told us that the letters are so important and asked us to keep sending as many as we can. Congratulations and thanks to your son for his service to our country!
