    Thanks for the advice, I will start those now.  He called last night when he arrived in GL, sounded a little scared over the phone.  However, I assume that is to be expected.

    I started drafting letters to my son before I even knew the mailing address. Once I got it I just stamped and mailed them all. Keep writing to your SR as often as possible...

    In about a week or so you'll get "the box" with his belongings that he had with him when he left but couldn't keep.  A few days after that you should get a form letter with his address in it and information about his Pass in Review (PIR) date.  We started writing as soon as our daughter left and then sent the letters when we got the address.  We talked to her yesterday and she told us that the letters are so important and asked us to keep sending as many as we can.  Congratulations and thanks to your son for his service to our country!
