Where to stay?

Getting ready to book my flight from So Cal and looking for a place to stay?  Any lodging recommendations?

  • We booked the Navy Lodge. You need to tell them you are there for PIR. $65 per night, no tax and very close to the base.

  • Gee  just find a place that has shuttle service to the base sound the easyest way to go

  • I am going to Sons PIR this week, I booked 2 nites at the Candlewood Suites in Waukegan,  I got $77 a night, as I booked and paid in advance

  • We are staying at the Marriott Courtyard.  Stayed in plenty of them over the years and always a good place.  They also have a shuttle to the base for PIR so I can leave the rental at the hotel and avoid the security delays for parking.

  • Going out for PIR on Sept 23rd. Staying @ Courtyard by Marriott in Waukegan. I think it is $109 a Night.

  • Steve....just got back last night from grandsons PIR.  We stayed at the Residence Inn. WONDERFUL.  Full kitchen, couch makes out into a bed and clean clean clean!!  Pool, gym, basketball court and in a nice business area that was close to shopping and restaurants. They also have an included full hot breakfast...eggs, taters, french toast, waffles, sausage, fruit, juice etc. Even complimentary happy hour from 530 to 7pm...beer, wine, soda and some warm food items. Only 4 miles from base and they have a shuttle if you choose not to drive.

  • Take the time to explore the site...in the PIR group is a discussion called Great Lakes Lodging Guide.....click this link
