Originally posted by Jaimers for another group. I've included it here for discussion purposes. I am not sure the list is 100%. For example, Desitin was on the list but I have heard that Desitin/Boudreau's Butt Paste is not allowed for some reason and that Vaseline is OK. They need it to avoid/treat rashes. BUD/S guys develop a distinctive gait when their clothes begin to chafe their skin, due to dry salty clothes, and something to treat the rashes or to protect against them sounds like a good idea. Extra equipment, such as helmets, have also been mentioned as a means of avoiding nightly repaints/clean-ups: purchase a few and you only need to do it periodically. To sum up: the list was provided by someone and it includes things they guys might need. Not sure how valid the list is though.
Here is a site forum that discusses the reasons for some of these things in detail: http://www.navyseals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152151 Be advised though that what you read on the internet could be provided by someone who just thinks but really doesn't know for sure what things are needed.
