What are the factors that enable/prohibit an E6 from CPO selection board eligibility? The process begins when a candidate earns a Final Multiple Score (FMS) from only two factors; the Performance Mark Average and exam Standard Score (see NAC notes for more details). Some candidates are waived from the process and become automatically board eligible when they meet the requirements of being in a designated combat zone. Everyone else is rank-ordered with their peers in the same rating by their FMS. Once NAC has completed processing regular and late exams, FMS cut scores are calculated for each rating. Those CPO candidates who have an FMS that falls in the top 60% of scores make the Selection Board Eligible (SBE) list. Those candidates with an FMS that falls in the bottom 40% of scores will not be SBE for CPO. (N32)
