Deployment, a dads perspective.

Do not know whether to pass or punt,
My kid was a squid now he's a grunt.
When he was a boy I taught him to hunt,
When he should swing when he should bunt.
Today my boy has grown into a man,
Doing his time in the desert sand.
Why he's there I don't understand,
Things don't always go as planed.
He has a wife now she carries his son,
He walks through the sand he carries his gun.
He can't tell her all of the things he's done,
Til the battle is over and the victory is won.
I can't make my mind stop thinking about him,
It can't decide whether to sink or swim.
Praying his chances are better than slim,
That he never finds his self out on a limb.
He had his training he knows what to do,
How to take care of the proud and the few.
To get them safely back home to you,
I know that they will take care him too.
