  • Classes are named by the class number in each fiscal year. My daughter graduated from ODS last year 15090 and my daughter in law starts Aug 21th is numbered 02-17. Usually there is class schedule shown at the OCS Navy website.

  • My daughter recently graduated and is now at Pensacola beginning aviation school. When she left for OCS I wanted the same thing because as a veteran its important they receive letters from home while going through boot camp. But its best for him to let you know once your son gets there because the last minute our daughter was given a different class number? Tell him to mail you as soon as he gets there the proper address. Give him a few envelopes and stamps to take with him. Send letters a few times or more a week. Keep them light hearted and fun, with encourgement. He is off to a great adventure~~.

  • My son will begin OCS on February 12, 2012.  Tell me if I'm correct:

    His class number is 12-12?

Twelve weeks from his start date will be May 6th?

His graduation should be the following Thursday May 10th?

Hi Ed. My son is in Class 21-10 as well. There is a great facebook site called "Navy OCS Class 21-10 Friends and Family" if you are not already on there. Lots of great information and sharing about all of our LO's in that class. Also a former OCS graduate is on there answering lots of questions for us as well. Let's pray they all made it through RLP yesterday! I'll update you here as well if I hear additional information. Thanks!

Hello all my son reported to OCS on July 10, and told me he was in the 21-10 class. Got a garbled voice message from him on July 11 that said he was alive. His mother recieved an E-mail on July 19th that said it was warm in Newport and that he was doing alot of pushups marching and yelling. Haven't heard much else from him since. Hoping he's made it through MTT I think its this week (4). Anyone else have someone in the 21-10 class?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Ed, Nick called on Saturday and all seems to be going well, nick was rolled early on and joined the class in week 2, he says this is the hardest thing he has ever done. It's the start of week 6 and about half over now, I just tell him to stay healthy, strong and dedicated to what these LO's are doing. Nick says everyone is doing well and they all watch over each other. He sounded tired but not down.

Hello Richard, sorry about Nick's injury he will no doubt make it through those long days. I was dreading a call the Zack had been placed in H company so far he's stayed healthy. Hopefully he will keep his spirits up. I spoke with Zack a week a go saturday and he had mentioned that all have had passed their RLP. His mother spoke with him this Saturday and he told her they were working on rifle drills this last week. I'm assuming that this week they will be doing fire training and the water disaster exercise.
I'm hoping I'll get a call sometime this week..
    Thank's for the info..

  • Bill,

Good to hear. Jonah is very relieved that most of the crazy stuff is over. His wife and my wife sent him a care package today with all of his favorite edibles. We will probably watch the run and chow hall experience before graduation on that Friday. Looking forward to meeting you, Tom and Art. We'll keep Willaim in our prayers... John

    John,
I got an email from William today. They put him on limited light duty about a week ago. His hamstring is getting much better, because of the rest. Today he took and passed his PFA.
He is really looking forward to this Wednesday when they should become Candi-O's.
So it looks like we still are on for him to graduate on 9-10. From now on he just needs to do well with the academics.
    Best wishes,
    Bill

    Bill,

Sorry to hear about Williams injury. Jonah said he might be able to stay with the class if he can pass his run. We'll be praying for healing no matter what.

    Take care, John

    John, Tom,

I got an email from William today. It looks like he will be rolling for medical reasons. He pulled a hamstring a couple of weeks ago and was trying to keep up, but now he strained his quads doing sprints so he went to sick call. Depending on how quickly it things heal he will be 3-6 weeks behind schedule and have a later graduation. He's disappointed, but I'd rather for his sake that he not push this to becoming a chronic injury.

I think they were "secured" for passing the ORLP, which is an outside RLP. It was a personal and uniform, but not room and locker, inspection. I believe the drill competition is next week. There are midterms and a physical fitness test this week or next. I'm not sure.

Looks like I will not be seeing you there.

Best wishes to you and our LO's,
    Bill
