SERE School

Hi All, just got word from my son Tom that he made it through SERE up in Maine, said it was really, really  tough, couldn't talk much, but said one of the things that got him through it was what his family told him to think about when things got really bad, that we were with him always.

  • congratulations - my son tells me some but not much he can talk about - very important job they are doing in Maine

  • Hi Brad, thanks for the nice words, Tom came home yesterday and seems to be doing well, ate like a horse and just wanted to hang out with us.  He told us just about everything that happened, I think he needed to get it off his chest.  They sent him home with a debriefing paper outlining what to expect from him which was very helpful. One thing he said was that when he wasn't sure what to do he reverted to his training and that got him through everytime.  Thanks again for your support.

  • Danny, that is really great that your son is through that.  Garrett didn't talk much about it afterwards.  Tough stuff, but they needed to deal with it.  Glad he is ok, and can move on.  Way to give him the encouragement prior so he could draw on that during the hard times.  I know Garrett was thankful for the support so he had his head geared for what was to come.  Congratulations!!!
  • thanks Jim, he should be home tonight sometime so we'll see how he's doing, thanks again for your support
