Ship date of April 8th approaching!

My son is shipping out on April 8th for 800 div. at Great Lakes. Anyone else have a son/daughter shipping out that week? Hopefully we can meet up at the P.I.R end of May! Thanks for all the great info on this site.

    Sending mine a card tomorrow and I'll ask him to seek out your son so the boys can introduce us in May. I'll be the one beaming with pride...oh, wait, that may not be specific enough.

    Sorry Les, I messed that up. It is the 31st, I was thinking about the time off work I need to get while I was typing! Thats funny, 2 Pats in the same ship, div, and rate. Sounds like I will see you in May!

    My son, also Pat, is in Ship 4, Div 811, and we got his box and the letter this week, too. His PIR date on the letter is 31 May, Friday. Are you sure his letter listed the 29th? The Friday date is listed as the official date and I don't want to miss it if its the 29th and don't want you to have a longer wait than necessary... I'm assuming its the 31st and our sons are in the same group, so will see you at PIR. I'm sure our sons will know each other well by then.

    My son is also down at Great Lakes beginning April 8th, and is contracted for Rescue Swimmer training. I just joined this site today, and will have to do some catching up. I appreciate what I've seen so far. I'd look forward to linking up with any other families at the PIR end of May.

    Grats on your son shipping out soon , Our Daughter Connor Shipped last week and just finished her first week, she is also Rescue Swimmer , Its shocking how fast the time goes from when you get the ship date to its arrival. Its tough the first few days but I found that the info i get from this site as well as videos from you tube has helped alot. I think its the not knowing exactly what they are doing thats hard, at least it was and is for me. so staying informed by this site and from others who have gone thru or are going thru this is a great help.
