Our son is suppose to graduate from EM A school in July and we have seen mixed reviews for hotels in the area. Anyone have any suggestion as to where to stay. We would appreciate any input anyone has to give.

Our son is set to graduate from Power School on August 23rd, we are staying Foster Creek Villa, it's housing on the base. A four bedroom house is $94 per nite. You have to pay in advance and your sailor has to be there when you check in, but we sure liked it when we were there for A-school graduation.
Gary, I've been to GC twice now for Power School and Prototype. Both times I stayed in hotels off of Ashley-Phosphate. First was a Hawthorn which is nice and has a full kitchen if you need that. Just this May we stayed in the Best Western, which is pretty nice and reasonably priced. I would seriously recommend both.
My wife and I also stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham and I concur with 'mlongst' ... Room and entire hotel were very clean and orderly, quiet, with nice amenities. We thought it was a really good value and it's only about 15 minutes from NNPTC.

We stayed at Wingate by Wyndham on University Blvd. This hotel was great. Sits alone on the college campus. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were excellent. I think you can get a room for about $80/night on Expedia or Hotels.com. This was an excellent choice.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in North Charleston, near the intersection of University Blvd. and I26.
It was easy to get to, and a short drive to/from the base. Enjoy your visit, and do schedule some extra time to see downtown Charleston.
Dean, my son graduates the second week, July 12. John, Thanks for the tip. We will check out Hampton Inn.
