Hello,

My son graduated BC on the 14th. Is the the right place for me to learn about his next step? He is now in Groton getting ready to start BESS. His end game is Machinist Mate sub side. Torpedo man. How long is BESS? And, does he continue on the job specific training after he graduates BESS? Thanks for the help...

    My son went to BESS right after PIR. It lasts only 8 weeks and he'll likely then be enrolled in other classes and then, finally, A School. My son's PIR was Oct 11. He is just now about to start A School. After A School he'll be stationed at a base from what I understand.
