I am a construction company manager and civil engineer with 5 children. Clay is my 2nd child and oldest son. I looked closely at joining the USN as I got close to obtaining my engineering degree, but regrettably, opted to not serve. My dad was a Marine and USNA Midshipman. I am inttensely proud of and humbled by both my Dad's and my son's service to our country.

Very pleased and proud because he did all the research on the opportunity, engaged his Recruiter on his own initiative and decided on his own that he wanted to serve in the US Navy. I hope and pray that the experience will be everything he is excited about now.

As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through.
