Several past realities have been in the Navy. My uncle was on the USS Arizona and killed at Pearl Harbor. I visited the memorial last year. I have always remember his picture and purple cross on my gramd mothers mantel. My father-in-law was a Navy pilot and killed in Korea, crashing his plane off the end of the ship. I now have a nephew joining and my brother told me about this site.

  • Hey Dale: I just send message to Navy dad Tom Struckman. His son is in Ship 13, Division 175. Tyler is in Ship 13, Division 174. They must be close. Tom Struckman's address is Cleves, Ohio. His profile is on Navydads.com you might check it out. You may live close. Bill
  • Hello Dale, Welcome and thank you for taking the interest to join the Navydads site. Tyler will be happy to know someone else is taking interest in his Navy Career. He is going to be a CTT and will be going to A School in Pensacola. I have not joined the Pensacola A School site and the Cryptology site but intend to do so. He should be leaving GL (Basic Tranning) the first couple of weeks in May.
I knew that you father-in-law flew in the Navy but do not know too much else. We would sure like to know what Carrier he was assigned to.
Tyler's Uncle Capt. John "Turk" Green was on the USS John F Kennedy, and the USS Forrestal. He Commanded the USS Camden, The USS John F Kennedy and The USS Theodore Roosevelt. He flew A-7 Corsair's and FA-18's.
Thanks for coming Aboard GO NAVY Bill
  • Dale, allow me the opportunity to welcome you to NAVY DAD'S. Please feel free to ask questions and participate. Please feel free to spread the word to other families with young men and women in the NAVY so they too will find us an gain the peace of mind which is ever so important when our youth join the military. Thank you Gary F.
  • Welcome to NavyDads Dale ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Dale this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how your sailor is doing! Best Regards- Paul
  • Dale, Welcome Aboard! I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Uncles. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your nephews journey in the Navy. Thank Tyler for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
    Sincerely, EG
