  • Gary, I'm having issues with the settings on the (my) page, I already reported to admin.  It could be from my end but in the mean time, look for the Intelligence Specialist group, click on it and you should see a button or tab to become a member, click on it and welcome aboard!
  • Hey Gary, it's me again! What a surprise, Sherley told me that she knows your daughter. They actually are in the same duty group and do watch together. I'm originally from Puerto Rico but living in Tampa, FL. I was in the Army back in the 80's and no one in our family has served with the Navy.

Listen Gary, I took the initiative to open a group page for Intel, since I've been in Navydads since October of last year and I don’t see anyone talking about the Intel folks and the Navymoms page have an Intel group and are very active. I know is a small group of sailors (the very elite, only 1% of the Navy force) but we can help each other and encourage each other..We need to man!! The only thing is that English for me is my second language and I know that every now and then I may say/type something that doesn't make any sense at all!! LOL!! I just created the page last Saturday night..I will send you and invitation.

Well my friend..Now I wait for your reply!! Hooyah!
  • email not working here..that's weird!!
  • Gary..I'm leaving now from work..I'll sent you a msg later tonight (20:00hr).
  • Oh I forgot..her "C" school is about 12 weeks.
  • Hi Gary!  Thanks for the quick reply to my invitation.  I'm very glad to meet an "IS" father, we are one of the few!!..so we need to be very proud of our daughters..and I'm pretty sure that we are..lol!  One thing about "IS" is that everything is hush-hush..even with infomation like what is going to be her "C" school, she will know that like two weeks prior to complete "A" school.  You may already know that there are 4 different "C" school options.  Sherley (my daughter) got orders for imagery school and she was going to have 5 days in between to visit us, but received a last minute orders to class-up and couldn't come home at all.  Right now she has info that her last day of school is 07/15 and is coming home for 12 days.
  • Welcome aboard Gary.
I would like to take this time to point you in some of the right directions. For starters if you haven't had the time take a look at the right side of any page you click on. There you will find some useful information for you. The links under the about this site will help you with how this site got started, navigation, PIR, About us, community guidelines and some links to some of the groups that beginners with a lot of questions will find very useful.
First and foremost though, we are all here for the same reason. We are curious about what our young sailors are getting into and for more information about the rate or job that they will be doing for the next 4-6yrs of their lives. I know when I first got here I had lots of questions and there was not a lot of people on this site but they all were either going through the same thing or had been through it and had sailors out in the fleet. Now this site has grown to over 2000 members, Dads, Moms, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, sisters, brothers, girlfriends and boyfriends. Don't be afraid to ask questions of members in here because somewhere along the way we have all had the same questions and asked. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site with various years of experience in the NAVY either on their own account or through their Sailors.
Again welcome aboard and BRAVO ZULU to you and your daughter Shelby on her enlistment and please thank her for me for making the choice to defend the freedoms that my family, this country and I have and enjoy.

  • Welcome to NavyDads !

Play the following video for a brief introduction to NavyDads.com. We've some cosmetic changes to the site since this video was made, but nagivation remains the same.

  • Welcome to NavyDads.com Gary! I'm sure you'll find NavyDads.com as useful, educational and informative as I have. Please explore the site and make some new Navy friends.  Be sure to read the discussions add your comments or start a new discussion.  Browse through the postings in the various groups or start a new one. I certainly have! If you have any comments, questions or concerns about your sailor and what she is going through...be sure to post them! In my experience someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm blessed to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) recently completed her five-year enlistment on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Gary this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in, get active, and be sure to let us know how Shelby is doing! Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind at all times. On the right or starboard side of every NavyDads.com page is an area we call About This Site.  Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link for some guidelines as to what we should and should not talk about in a public forum like NavyDads.com. And stop by the NavyDads offical store- Navyoutfitters.com!  Show your support for NavyDads.com by wearing the latest in NavyDads attire.  Best Regards- Paul
  • Gary, Welcome Aboard!

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Shelby for her service for me and for yours as well. Thanks again for joining us.

    Sincerely, E.G.
