  • James,
Looks like we could have several things in common LOL. Did you just join this site? Has Leah commited yet? My daughter went straight out of high school. She just graduated boot camp Oct 5th and now in Pensacola Florida waiting to class up. I not being in the military myself am learning more and more as time goes on. I try to keep talking with those that have previous experience so I can understand how things work a little better. I want to try and stay informed so when Samantha does tell me about whats happening I undertstand some what anyhow. Look for ward to talking in the future.
  • Welcome to NavyDads James! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your future sailor and what she is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is a month into a seven-month deployment on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month deployment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And James this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Leah is doing with her big decision!

Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your future sailor is going to experience. And as PIR draws closer, be sure to spend some time going through the PIR-Tips, Hints and Helps group- we’ve tried to assemble some tips and suggestions to make your sailors PIR more enjoyable.

And when you get a chance, please check out the Daughters and their Dads group- this is a great place to talk about and to brag about our girls!

    Best Regards- Paul
  • James, Welcome Aboard!. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I hope this site can be of help in making Leah's decision in enlisting. We will help in anyway that we can. They Navy is a great place to start. Good luck to you both. Thank Leah for her soon to be service and thank you for your service to this great country as well. Thanks again for joining. Sincerely, EG
