What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
At first I was worried, concerned & heartbroken but couldn’t figure out why. Later I realized it wasn’t that I was heartbroken about him joining the military, it was more about having to face the reality he was “all grown up”. When your kiddo is just away at college, they are still coming home C calling you, NEEDING YOU. The military is a slap of reality that he isn’t t your baby anymore . I cried every day from the day he told
Me until he graduated boot camp. Then I cried the whole drive home. Now as proud as I am AND I AM SO PROUD it is bittersweet … and I still cry, just he fini not as much lol. ❤️

I found this website when he first told me he was joining the military trying to find every bit of info I could because he was youn g and of course believed EVERYTHING his recruiter told him- not tjhay they “LIE” but they are there to pitch how great the military is so youlll join. They’re not going to tell you the bad things … so of course o was the dream killer at first lol but I’m the ONLY one who will have no other agenda or who will ALWAYS. Want what’s best for HIM it’s hard to see that when you’re a young adult trying to find yourself and your independence .

"Welcome aboard to NavyDads.com Lori! When my son first enlisted, I was a little scared and worried for him. Not coming from a military family at all, I had no idea what to expect. What I found, was that he had made the most mature decision of his life! I found lots of answers to my questions right here on NavyDads.com.
My son Stephen was an AWO2 in the P-3 community. However, after 6 years of service, he was medically discharged in July of 2014. We are so proud of our son and his service to our country. I'm sure you feel that same pride for you child. This is the place to brag!
