What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
Mixed emotions really. I am proud of him in his decision to serve, but it bothers me a little that it was the Navy because his mother was a sailor for a short time, but skipped out early due to a "psych issue" and his step-dad was a fat retired chief. They both constantly bad-mouth me and belittle my service to the country in front of him. I wish him luck and hope that his time away from the toxic home life will help open his eyes, and he sees the truth enough to re-establish a relationship with his father.

Welcome aboard to NavyDads.com Matthew! When my son first enlisted, I was a little scared and worried for him. Not coming from a military family at all, I had no idea what to expect. What I found, was that he had made the most mature decision of his life! I found lots of answers to my questions right here on NavyDads.com.
My son Stephen was an AWO2 in the P-3 community. However, after 6 years of service, he was medically discharged in July of 2014. We are so proud of our son and his service to our country, as you will also burst with pride of your child! This is the place to brag!
