  • Thanks for the Ask Questions comment.  And I Have a few.  My son is in FMTB in Calif. with a graduation date of Sept 30. Any suggestions?  We are planning to attend and want to make the best of it.

    Thanks

  • Hi again, sorry about my misspelling there,I was wishing you and your family a great week and weekend :) but I had trouble with the window here being to small,so my apologies for this.

  • Hi Randall

I am happy for you that Ted is home again, and like you said I am sure they dont know how we parents feel, when they are away, and especially on deployments,as one even worries when they are in training.

Its nice to know that you are of Finnish origin,I have never been there but I have been to Sweden, and I know they speak Finnish in Finland, which I think is more difficult to learn then icelandic. I am sure that sometime I will go and visit the Keys and maybe my son Steindor can show me around :)

He is doing great, gets 97% on his tests and,has gotten his orders to go to his FMTB class in april,so he will have a chance to visit his dad after corpsman school, but mom will have to wait until he is done with FMTB. glad to hear your move is going great,I always say,its more fun unpacking tnen packing .I'll let Steindor know of your sons offer to help him out if he has questions, thank your son from me please. Hope you guys have a week and weekend. Greetings from Iceland :)Finna thats the short version of my name

  • I am happy to hear your son is doing fine, and I can understand that you are proud of him,and its great to know that The Marines have such respect for their corpsman. Very nice pictures and fun to see. Your son is a very good looking young man, tall like mine. I hope your moving went well,I really envied my son when he was in the Keys, because it is a place I always wanted to see. His school was in Marathon, but there was not time for him to do anything else but study when he was there. I tell him about the running and swimming,I guess they must have pools there on base, for them to practise in.

Thanks and congratulations on your son, please thank him from me also for the advise to my son.

Hope you and your family have a great weekend and that all goes well for you and your family as well

    Greetings Finna

  • My apologies for not remembering whether to say former or x,I knew one of them was right, but I guessed on the wrong one.Thank you very much Randall, this very generous of you and your son,I will relate your offer to Steindor my son, when I hear from him, hopefully soon. I know at least that I appreciate it and I am sure he will too. My prayers are also with our sons and all the people in the military and our families as well. I would like to add you to my friends list, which is a kind of small,I hope you will accept. My best

    your friend Finna

  • Thanks for the advise,I´ll be sure to tell him. You must be very proud of your son,I would be I know. They are about the same age. He started scuba diving with his dad who is an x Marine,I know, once a Marine always a Marine. He did that for a few summers and then he went to the keys for a 4 month school and graduated as a scuba instructor. I was very proud of him then, and even more so now,I just hope the path he gets will be fulfilling and rewarding,as I know you want for your son. He must be very special and talented. I have already marked maturity in my son,and know the Fmtb training will take that maturity even further. I wish both your son and you good luck in what he does, and mine also. Thanks again for telling me.
  • Randall not sure of this answer, you might want to ask in the corpsman group. Tell Ted I wish him the best.
