I'm the father of five children, three boys and two girls. My oldest son and daughter are married and have given me five grandchildren. Next, there's Michael who's in the Navy, my other daughter is a junior in college, studying to become a teacher and my youngest son is a senior in high school. We live in Ohio and my wife and I have been married for thirty-four years.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
We were sad, however it was something that he wanted to do and we (my wife and I) fully supported his decision. His grandfathers who are both deceased were Navy veterans. So we love the Navy. He completed RTC in September of 2014 and left for A school the next day, then he completed Power School and Prototype before being assigned. He returned from his first deployment last December 30th. So today marks my sons four year anniversary in the Navy and he recently re-enlisted for two more years.

Please Share: How Did You Find Us?
I actually found navy, dads, com on Wednesday June 28th on You Tube while looking for some songs to post for the 4th of July on Facebook. The song that I found that day was "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts and was the perfect message to send to my "Fabulous Five"

Welcome aboard to NavyDads.com Randy! When my son first enlisted, I was a little scared and worried for him. Not coming from a military family at all, I had no idea what to expect. What I found out was that he had made the most mature decision of his life! I found lots of answers to my questions right here on NavyDads.com.
My son Stephen was an AWO2 in the P-3 community. However, after 6 years of service, he was medically discharged in July of 2014. We are proud of our son and his service to our country.
