Describe A Little About Yourself (your IP address/location will be checked::
I was raised in the Southeast and attended high school near our nation's capital. After graduating from high school, I attended Virginia Tech, working my way through college as a pool manager and water safety instructor during the summers while working in sales, food service, engineering and accounting jobs throughout the school year.
After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Insurance, and Business Law, I became a data analyst with Booz-Allen before joining the Air Force and receiving my commission. Over the next twenty years, I flew B-52s and C-130s in both peacetime and combat roles throughout several theaters of operation on four continents. Additional duties included IT support, project and program management and classroom instruction, as well as a director of IT, academics, tactics and as a liaison officer to the U.S. Army. Somewhere in that mix I found time to work as a freelance writer for Network World.
After retiring from the military, I ran an outdoor adventure program in Colorado Springs for three years before heading back to school to finish my MBA, with honors, and with a concentration in Technology Management. Next, I earned a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Project Management, graduating at the top of my class.
I enjoy flying, camping, reading, writing, and spending time with my family and friends, particularly my son, who recently graduated high school and is now working on his own military career.
I am writing the third of a set of five novels of the political spy thriller genre. I have been teaching a fiction novel writing group for the last four years.
Future goals include completing a doctorate, working in a think-tank type of environment in business, and eventually, teaching at the university level.

Welcome aboard to NavyDads.com Steve! When my son first enlisted, I was a little scared and worried for him. Not coming from a military family at all, I had no idea what to expect. What I found, was that he had made the most mature decision of his life! I found lots of answers to my questions right here on NavyDads.com.
My son Stephen was an AWO2 in the P-3 community. However, after 6 years of service, he was medically discharged in July of 2014. We are so proud of our son and his service to our country. I'm sure you feel that same pride for you child. This is the place to brag!
