Proud Father of United States Navy Sailor. I gained custody of my son when he was 7. My self, I am a Piping Designer in Corpus Christi, Tx. I have been married to wonderful woman for the past 3 years. My grandfather was in the Navy during WWII and Korea. He passed away about 4 years ago, he would of been so proud of his grandson serving our country. My son left for bootcamp 6-16-08 (fathers day). He is in the Nuclear Program and graduated Power school on 9-25-09. he is getting ready fro Prototype training next. We are very proud of our son and ALL military regardless of who our President is. (LOL)

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
My son went to Sam Houston State for 1-1/2 years. He said he was tired of school and wanted to take a break. He always wanted to go into the military, but we steered toward college first. We talked about him joining and looked into the Navy. I was nervous at first, but this was his decision and we supported him in every way. His recruiter here was awesome, in fact we still keep in touch. My son has a 6 year commitment but is leaning to making a carreer of it.

My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Tim for his service for me and for your fathers as well. Thanks again for joining us.
Sincerely, EG
