Jason was stationed in Suda Bay about 2 years ago...he loved it there...This Navy lingo is all new to me...im an army brat...my dad is a Veitnam Vet also....he goes to Tracker reunions every year...
  • William-- be sure to keep current with the the Tiger Cruise group....I've got a bunch of stuff there that you can use to get an idea of what to expect and what to do and not to do......we keep on telling everyone that PIR is the time of their life....NOT TRUE....Tiger Cruise is the time of your life for sure!!!!!!!!!
  • Be sure to keep checking y0ur son's ships' website...there should eventually be a link to Tiger Cruise info there. You'll have to fill out a medical screening form and get that back to your son. I printed out a PDF, signed it and scanned it back into email so he got it ASAP.

I've posted a bunch of blogs about my Tiger Cruise CLICK FOR LINK that should give you an idea about the cruise and what you can expect. Remember that it's like camping....pack less than you think you'll need and get set for the time of your life for sure!! In the Tiger Cruise group is also a Stennis video about Tiger-- good to view and done in a comical manner......

Post your concerns and questions and we'll try to answer......Paul
  • William, Welcome Aboard!

My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Michael for his service for me and for yours as well. Thanks again for joining us.

    Sincerely, EG
  • Welcome to NavyDads William! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric just returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat returned last fall from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And William this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Michael is doing! And stop by the NavyDads offical store- Navyoutfitters.com. Show your support for NavyDads by wearing the latest in NavyDads attire. And William- thank you for your service to our great country. Also William- click for a link to our tutorial section I'm setting up to help you personalize and naviagte aoround NavyDads. Best Regards- Paul
