BAHRAIN (July 9, 2015) A P-8A Poseidon assigned to Patrol Squadron Thirty (VP) 30 stopped in Bahrain as part of an advance trip in preparation for the Poseidon's deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations. The P-8A Poseidon is replacing P-3C Orion aircraft as a long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, Intelligence, surveillance aircraft capable of broad-area, maritime and littoral operations.
