  • Singing cards aren't the best idea from what I've heard. But my wife and I couldn't resist when our son celebrated his birthday while in boot camp. We sent a singing card, he probably had to do extra push ups for it but he did say that at night they would have dance night with the singing cards we had sent. What's a couple of extra push ups for a singing card to celebrate their birth. I would imagine the RTC's would overlook them for a birthday occasion. But if not, their there to get in shape, aren't they?
  • be cautious about what you send...stay away from music and voice cards and do not include candy or anything to eat. anything that draws alot of attention may give reason for some special high intensity training.........
  • Yes, you are allowed mail during basic training. Believe me... that is one thing that still connects you with "the outside." I was in the Navy, one of my sons has been in the Navy about 8 years and is stationed in Greece. My son-in-law is also career Navy and is now on deployment to the western pacific.

Getting mail, especially durring boot camp, is always a pleasure...
