Daughter Shelby

Our daughter called home last night very upset as she has a stress fracture in one of her legs.  She only had 3 weeks to graduation and has passed everything to this point.  She only has the final PT test and battle stations left.  She was crying because she is upset she cannot graduate with her division as she will be set back several weeks.  My wife and I feeflabsolutely aweful for her as she has put her heart and sould into this.  Please pray that Shelby has a fast recovery.

  • Jim, Paul,

My daughter healed up and graduated today! It was great to see her and she is doing very well.  I am very proud of her.  She is off to her A school in VA tomorrow.

Thanks again for your kind words and support when I needed it most!

    Hi Paul!

You stated that your daughter had two severe stress fractures.  How do things work in medical hold.  We did get a nice long call From Shelby last Sunday and found out she is already on phase 3.  She seems to be doing well, but wants to get back in a division as soon as possible.  She had a xray on Monday.  How did you find things oult like if she is doing better or if they have a set back.  Do you have to wait for Sundays when they call or do they let them call home when a change either way occurs.  It is killing us to know how the x-ray came out.  I was surprised to hear that she has to pass a running test to get out of medical and the final in her unit.  it makes me nervous to have all of this stress on her leg.  I appreciate any feedback you can give me.

  • Thanks Paul.  This is encouraging.  I am not sure the extent of the fracture.  She stated it only hurts when she runs, so I am hophing it is not real serious and can get back on track real soon.  They thougt she would be there about 3 weeis after graduation.  She is a tough girl, she will work hard to get through this.  Thanks again for taking the time to reply Paul.  It means a lot.  I was in the dumps but feeling better afer reading the replies to my post.

  • Thanks again Jim!  This was a tough day, but your words of encouragement made me feel better.  You are right, she will get through this there is just a little bump in the road.  God bless Jim!
  • Thanks Jim!  I appreciate you words of encouragement.  It is difficult to see your kids hurt.  Take care and thanks again!
