Email OPSEC question

This week I received an email from my son who is at sea on a carrier.  The email was worded in such a way that I am convinced that it was not from him.  In all cases when he has sent me emails in the past - he uses "text-grammar" bad spelling, abreviates everything, and does not worry about grammar at all.  When he sends my wife an email that is the way it reads, however, when he sends an email to me, it is worded perfectly, perfect grammar, and all words spelled correctly.

I was wondering if someone is editing his email, or possibly making him use good grammar.

  • I don't think you have a censorship issue....I'm sure they watch some of the mails on a random basis for things like port dates and like, but censoring for grammar....don't think that is going to happen simply because everyone is so darn busy.  Send a message to him and ask!  Don't think they would be censoring any incoming mails....much more likely to be watching for known spam domain names and the like.......my guess...he had extra time and one less energy drink than usual and didn't have his "jitter-on" and was actually able to type.....!!
