  • you should never hesitate talking to his recruiter...if they are reluctant to talking with a Navy parent then there is an issue that should be addressed......I would imagine you can follow the same command trail as trying to find a SR's address as in this link:http://www.navydads.com/forum/topics/cant-get-your-sailors-address

     

    but mind you that there are very limited rates open and I would avoid fighting all your SR's conflicts ..... he has to demonstrate the strength of his convictions and make a clear, concise argument for the change...you can help though with support.....

  • Is there any possibility of him talking to his recruiter and the detailers at MEPS before he goes, so he gets the rate he wants?  It's easier to change now than it is later.

  • Thanks! I'll pass that on to my son. He's not leaving until October. Maybe something will open up. He scored pretty well on the ASVAB.

  • sometimes...depends on what his ASVAB was, what he qualified for and IF there is a billet open...right now don't count on it though as the Navy has too many full rates.............
