USS BOXER, At Sea (NNS) -- U.S. Navy aircraft and ships continue the search for the missing Sailor from amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4), reported missing July 26.

The Sailor's next of kin have been contacted by the Navy; the Sailor's name will not be released while the search is ongoing.

The surface search is being conducted by guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio (CG 68), guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) and Boxer. Aerial searches continue, and have included aircraft from aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, (CVN 76) Boxer and Anzio, as well as a P-3 maritime patrol aircraft.

Just a word of encouragement to CG 62.

I work for the DoD, NSWC, SSES in Philly. I support the machinery controls group, smartship, for the cruisers. I work mostly with the GSEs but also various rates since we control everything but weapons. I have been on the CG 62 several times and it is a fine ship. I am proud of the sailors on the 62 and proud to support them. Keep up the good work!
