Hello Fellow My NavyDads Who Are Hams!
K9JAJ checking in. It's been a while I know and we still haven't gotten together on the airwaves. We all have other things going on in our lives, I realize that, but I'm not giving up hope that we can one day put something together!
First off, I do hope your sons & daughters are all doing well. My son is working his butt off down in Nuke Power School but he seems to be handling it quite well, both academically and psychologically. I think he wraps it up the end of October or perhaps that first week of Nov. then it's off to Prototype.
On the radio front, recently I rediscovered my roots and have been doing a lot of CW work and having a great time of it. Considering I had been away from it for 40+ years I think I'm doing pretty darn good! All I know is I'm having FUN! :)
So, what's up with the rest of you? Jared? Larry? Bob? Jay?
How about you Gary? Have you taken the leap yet?

Bumped into your net while I was waiting for watch. I'll have to try to meet up with you via echolink. Sounds like you are having fun down in the HF band. Good time for it too as this year is supposed to be solar max.

Not doing too bad. My son is doing well with his recent promotion to PO2. I'm getting ready for a change of duty station.
On the radio side, I've been elmering a bunch of new hams. Especially in building up jump kits and antenna building. I've put marline spike seamanship into use here too. Tied a "Monkey's Fist" for heaving lines and raising an antenna in the field.
I still need to take the general exam. I should get that done before I go back to sea.
