I do use echolink. I'll hop on every now and then. I've been focusing on helping local hams.
I really need to upgrade. 16 years of working in Radio Central (RM/IT) and 18 years of being a ham doesn't really leave me much excuse.

Welcome aboard, Jared! Might be a bit of a task to QSO with you on 2 meters being you are in CA and I'm in Indiana. We need to get you to upgrade my friend! You ever use Echolink? Maybe I could link up with you on that sometime?

My name is Jared. As of late I've been running around with a Wouxun kg-pd1 2M/70cm, brewing antennas with other hams, and training junior sailors and radio operators in radio propagation and practices.
OK, last call change, I promise!

Got me a new callsign...
At least for now that is.
I've applied for a "vanity callsign".
If I don't get it, I will forever be known as...

Hello and welcome to the Group.
My name is Jeff and my call is KC9WWL/AE. The "slash AE" means I recently passed my Extra exam and I am waiting for my new updated license to appear in the FCC database.
I am running an ICOM 706MKii with an AT-180 tuner, all powered by an Astron RS-35A power supply, feeding a G5RV Pro antennna hung as an inverted V.
I mostly use SSB on 80 and 40 meters. Occasionally I'll tune around 20 and 15 meters as well.
I also run a Yaesu FT-7900 FM Dual Band (2m/440) rig in my van.I also recently applied to the local RACES organization here on the county level.
That's about it for me!
