Hi! My name is Stacey and my daughter Rachel just rolled up to this class last Thursday night, just in time for First Friday and Sucky Saturday. Congrats to both of you on your child’s acceptance to OCS. William, I saw your son rolled down. I’m sure he’s disappointed, but don’t be discouraged. My daughter has been in H Class since November. Poor on the letters of encouragement. He’ll be there for three weeks with nothing to do. I wrote almost every day when Rachel was there. She told me it really helped. It’s like I told my daughter, all that matters is that you graduate, not how long it takes to do it. Doctors have their diplomas hanging in the wall. It says nothing about how long it took to get through medical school. Right? Good luck!

My son is in the OCS Class 09-18 as well. He graduated from UCF in Aerospace Engineering and is in NUPOC.
He called on Monday, Jan 15th and said I should be getting a card of some kind in the mail. I was thinking it may have an address and what we can and can't mail. not sure.
I found the official OCS website very helpful to know what he is going thru. I don't see that the OCS Newport RI facebook page has a OCS Class 09-18 group yet.
Hope there can be some discussion of friends and family of OCS Class 09-18. I am new to anything military and want to be better informed of what is going on in my son's career path. My son just graduated from UND with a commercial aviation degree and he is just starting OCS and after graduating OCS will be going on to flight training. My wife and I just want to be the best supporters we can be for our son and all who volunteer for service!
