AWF/FTS

My son is at Pensacola, his rate is AWF FTS. What does this mean? I know FTS is Full Time Support/Reserves, so how is this different from regular? Is this an advantage or disadvantage to his carrier. Thanks

  • Hi David and welcome to the Navy family.
My son is an AWF2 with the C2 Greyhound.
I posed your question go him and he said your son will be shore based, C-40/C-130. Better for advancement and locations. But FTS is the active side of the reserves.
