  • We got a phone call from our SR this morning. Div 069. He said they have 55 people left in the division. They are doing well and he has passed the swim test (we were a little worried). He exceeded the second PFA so that is also reassuring. He said they have their second written exam coming up next week. He got his pick of ET, so that was also great news. I told him we would see him in three weeks and he corrected me saying it was 20 days. Lol. They all love the letters and cards - keep them coming!
  • Hi all. I have not gotten another phone call from my SR since Christmas. We received 3 letters from him on Thursday. I know not to expect phone calls, but it is very cool when we get one! He said that a few more SR's quit, pushed back, or med out. He isn't sure why. He says that he is able to see a small glint of light at the end of the tunnel, but knows there is still lots to learn and more IT to bare. They are getting better by the day. Hope all is well with all the Navy Dads!
  • I received 2 letter from my Son today. I love getting letters from him! Things are as expected, sleep depravation (falling asleep while standing up), a lot of IT, made lots of friends, misses his home church a lot, misses family, friends, says things are as expected, but there's nothing that he can't handle. Things are looking better as the Division is slowly coming together. All is well. I hope that your SR's are fairing well.
  • Not true at all....there are cases where BS21 occurs on the day prior to PIR......

  • If I'm correct, it appears they have a "dead" week between the last BC week and the PIR ceremony.  If so, what do they do on the "9th" week?

  • Wish I had a hundred-dollar bill for every time I've heard that threat has been made!  A division WILL NOT get held back for those reasons.......matter of fact I've never heard about a division getting held back for ANY reason.

  • Got another phone all yesterday. My Son sounded discouraged. He said that his RDC 's said that they were so bad that they might get pushed back. He said the the were IT'd all the time because a few knuckle heads could not keep their mouth shut. the knuckle heads are now getting 1 on 1 IT. I told him to keep his head up. It was all scripted. And it,would get easier because they were getting better. I love and miss my Boy!
  • Just got a letter in the mail from my Son today! The first one! It was so good to hear from him! He sounded good, has done about 1000 push-up's, getting into shape, getting yelled at, etc. Older Divisisions tell them as they march past "hang in there. It get's easier!" I told me he sucks it up and mans up shuts his mouth and does what he is told. The Boy makes his Dad so proud. He is tough and I have no doubt he will be fine!
  • Thanks for the info Jim!

Phone call ship 12 Div 078

my Son called this morning........Waaaaaahoooo! It was so good to hear his voice! He called his Mother first and then me. I happen to be home sick from work and when I heard his voice I forgot how bad I felt. He sounded good! A little home sick, but that was understandable. He said that his div started with 93 SR's and now are at 67 due to failed drug test, wanted to quit, etc. they are gone! They have gone through the swim test and have gotten a base line on their physical fitness, my Son…
