So sad to read about the loss of a Sailor in Iraq. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and loved ones.

Yes, Halloween is almost here.. where did October go? I will not buy candy early because I will eat it..so much for will power... I have none when it comes to chocolate.. lol

I would like to welcome Navy Dads co administrator, Jim Gramza to the group, welcome aboard!!!
We are a close knit group of Navy parents here at Spagos. We are all close friends... some of us have even met.... we had a group over at Navy for Moms, but I guess they are working on the site... So we have decided to come here..
This is just kind of a safe haven for us all to meet and talk.. it beats Facebook!
We have a good time on here, we talk about fine dining, good drinks, music, trips, family, etc... and we have even had parties in this group... so just pull up a chair and join us!
Stephen, I love all of the pictures of Italy, it sounds wonderful, and I know you and Elle are still walking on cloud 9... yes, I agree, taking a tour is the best thing to do, I think... especially when visiting another country! Im so glad you got to meet another nice couple, it helps to have other people to talk to, and join you in your travels. It sounds like you had an amazing time and it was a trip of a lifetime!!
I love all of the Spooky Halloween pictures!! We should plan another one of our famous Halloween parties, with food, music, drinks and fun!! We have been doing that, and it is fun.. it's like we are all together!
Richard, I'm so glad you got to take your mom to her old house, I'm sure she enjoyed it, and it meant a lot to her... and I know you enjoyed your time with her, too! Definitely moments to cherish... and I'm sure it was a beautiful drive, with it being fall, I'm sure the trees are bursting with different colors!!!
As for my family, we are doing great, and the grand baby is just as sweet as she can be, she has got a little cold, though... but she is so adorable! And yes, I'm spending lots of time rocking her!! Cuddles and cuddles!!!

Hope you all are doing well! It was a beautiful day here! I took my mom for a ride back to Ohio to see her old house and see some old friends and visit my stepmom. It was a long day, but a good one!
Baker- it sounds like you had a wonderful trip and the tour group was a good pick! I am sure they have been doing this for a long time and know all the ins and outs and so that makes it that much better for you... beautiful pictures!

We are thankful we did go on the Rick Steves 17 day tour of Italy. We got to see so much and truly experience Italy in such a short time. The tour guides were extremely well trained and it was an adventure of a lifetime. Well worth the money. We ate like Kings and Queens on the trip. Good thing we walked 5 plus miles a day. Only way to work off the meals until the next one. Of course we had plenty of Gelato to hold us over until the next time we ate. "La Vita Bella!" (The Beautiful Life!)
I hope all our Sailors are well and enjoying life in the Navy.
