Tony I'm going to put up links to all the sports teams in the area on this page this weekend. Someone has pictures on here of when they took their son to the Cubs game while he was in uniform. That must have been awesome.

My daughter is graduating late March. I am thinking about seeing if the White Sox or Cubs are playing an exhibit matinee game that Sunday. Of course, it could and probably will be cold.

A great "voyage" is visiting the Science Museum in Chicago. I was most interested in visiting the U-505 exhibit-- one of only very few U-boats left on display in the world. It was an interesting perspective to watch my son tour the exhibit and the sub. I have a great photo of him, in blues, touching the starboard prop guard and reaching out across all those years and forgetting about the question of whether that Naval vessel flew the Stars and Strips or the Nazi flag: realizing that those tons of steel were manned by young men that went to sea for their country. It was a moving moment for me....

There is so much to do, and so many things to see, that it would be impossible to do and see it all. One of the websites I found mentioned going up to the observation deck on the Sears tower first, just to get an idea of how vast Chicago is. Unfortunaely, we weren't able to take in any of the Chicago sites, but that is a different story completely. I will say that if you are planning on going up with a travel trailer, 5th wheel or motor home, there is a campground right there on base, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. We had deer and a coyote come through camp in the two days we were there. If you are interested in camping there, do a search for MWR Great Lakes. There is a lot of information.

We took the architecture cruise. Here is the link that tells about it.

I'll check the prices. It was around 14 for adults and 10 for children I think. We took the ride through the city. It took an hour. They have one that also will take you through the city and into lake Michigan which takes longer. I'll find the info and post it here but it was awesome to do.

EG, the boat ride sounds like a good idea. Was it very expensive and how long of a tour was it?

I would highly recommend the boat ride through the city. The boat takes off from Navy Pier and rides the river through the city. It is an awesome view of the skyscrapers from this point of view. I took many awesome pictures from the boat. It also has a bar so you can kick back and enjoy.

One place we wanted to go, but couldn't transportation to (Cab fare was $85.00 each way) was:
The Museum of Science and Industry. There are many amazing exhibits including the U505 the only German Submarine from WWII in the United States.
