  • My son, Wes, graduated the week after your son (he was officially a sailor 6-13 but they made his division wait another week). He is going to be an AT (Aviation Electronics Technician). This is only an estimation, but I think his schooling will last about 4-6 months. He is still in Great Lakes right now doing the first part of A-school and then in about a month he is going to Pensacola for more. He will be on a ship, probably the flight deck, taking care of all the electronics on aircraft, radar, etc. No I am not on Navy Moms because I didn't know it existed at the time lol. I heard about Navydads by EG's son, James (Evan), at the Mall in Great Lakes. I did however go and check them out about a week ago and read lots of information they had but I am loyal to this site and I don't have time to keep track of both sites lol. Again I am glad you found us here! God Bless, Michele :)
  • That is neat :). With him in the same state are you able to go see him a lot? I always hear horror stories about Nuculear Sailors, can you tell me more about it? What exactly is their job? Is A-school really long for them? Will Adam be on a sub or ship? God Bless, Michele :)
  • Jim - Welcome Aboard! How cool we are neighbors :) NC here. When did Adam go to bootcamp? Hope you find all the support, comfort, and answers you seek here. We are an energetic bunch so don't be afraid to ask. . .the group 'Ask A Sailor' is neat too! Look forward to hearing more about Adam and your family. God Bless, Michele :)
  • Jim welcome and thanks for joining us Navy dads. Jump right in and feel free to share concerns, join groups, and ask questions. We are all in this together. What is your son doing? Is he in bootcamp? I hope this site can be of help to you. I'm so glad to have another proud Navy dad like myself. Again welcome to family. EG
