  Stephen it is an emotional rollercoaster. Up and down, up and down. But the pride is unbeleivable. Seeing my son in his sailor suit. PHEW! It is hard to not hear your sons voice and the letters from him will be short. I told Glen tonite that someone should start a bootcamp group. That might help. Everyone gets different information while talking to their son. It helps to share it with others going through it. Now to tell you how hard it is. At graduation Evan left with us after graduating and we returned him that night. We were to pick him back up in the morning for another day of liberty. So we were going to see him in less than 12 hours. But the emotional rollercoaster is evil. My mind played tricks on me. I saw my son walking away from the truck headed towards his barracks and in an instant I saw a little boy walking away in a sailors suit and just as quick a full grown man walking off a sailor. My wife and I fell apart on the way back to the hotel. It is tough but what they are doing is so honorable. Protecting our freedoms. Not everyone's child sacrifice's themselves for the good of their country. That is why this site and n4m's is so important. It's just not our children going through this for the next 4 years it's us also. Mom, dad, brother, sister, etc. We are here to help each other through this. I lean on you one day, you lean on me the next. Just Remember everyone on this site is feeling the same as you and your wife. We will help each other. Keep in touch and hope to hear how Michael is doing.

  Stephen thanks for joining. I found navyformoms.com in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads wouldn't feel guilty interacting in a woman's world. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Please feel free to lean on us. We will be here for you and your family. Thanks again, EG

  I live in Hallsville, Tx and would like to meet others from the surrounding area. My wife and I are very proud of our son, however, we feel really lost with no daily contact we r used to him being in communication regularly. Also, with the 4th of July just happening we r a tad bit emotional. I can say that it has changed our lives so much and our views on some things withi n our government. Mostly it has increased my pride for my son.
