I couldn't have been prouder. My son has never wanted to anything else but serve his country since he was in 3rd grade.

    Cindy - my wife has joined Navy for Moms and her name is Pat feel free to connect with her there. She has so many emotions going that she has been really struggling. Yesterday was a good day though because we finally got his mailing address and his three sentance reassurance which made us all feel much better. Both my wife and I immediately wrote to him which made us feel better. The difference between the two of us is I love reading everything I can about what he is experiencing and reading everyones comments so I know we all experience the same things. Pride, saddness, missing them, and counting the days until PIR. I have learned as parents that is just what we do. We are not alone and we need to connect with others who have or are going through the same things. It helps us all get through. So thanks to people like you Cindy I put my X's on the calendar as the days go by until October 24 where I get to see Matt in full uniform and as a parent have my chest break open with pride and yes try to hold back the tears.

    Hi Tim ~ Welcome. I was reading what you had written in the Corpsman group. If your wife would consider it, please have her get her own page here or on Navy for Mom's. There's a small group of us Mom's on this site and we probably know exactly what she's feeling and going through. I'd love to be able to talk to her and I know other Mom's would as well. My son, Morgan, just graduated from PIR last Friday, 8/15. It's hard for me to believe it's been a week already. He stayed there in GL for A school hoping to go on to FMF.

    Tim thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Thank your Son for his service for me.
