  We got a call Sunday 1/16 and a letter on the 22nd which was written on the 10th so it contained nothing new after phone call.  Other Moms also said they had a gap in mail, was wondering if you Dads got letters.  They must be extremely busy studying and practicing for BS21.

  Merry Christmas...good to hear you got a letter from your son.  We are still waiting for that first letter.  That shouldn't suprize me, the boy spent three summers working at a scout camp and think we only one letter over the three years.  At least while he was working there he could call, when he got off work at 9:00 PM and hiked to the top of a hill where he could get cell signal.  We have always lived by the "no news is good news" rule.

  our son is also  ship11div066.  glad to see that you got your letter yesterday.  we are still waiting on ours.  we got the other stuff but not the real 1st one.  My son is chandler .  I can tell you That his mom is on pens and needles waiting for that letter.  Should be any day now.  Glad erik is doing good.  Mississippi is a long way from Ill. I know the cold is kicking his butt,

  I to got the wonderful phone call at 1:30 am..  Thought it was kinda funny myself.  I know what he is going through being that i am in the Army National Guard.  Guess i will see if he does anything that i told him to do

  Welcome to NavyDads.com Thomas! I'm sure you'll find NavyDads as useful, educational and informative as I have. Please explore the site and make some new friends. Read the discussions and add your comments. Browse through the postings in the various groups or start a new one. I certainly have! If you have any comments, questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...be sure to post them! In my experience someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the direction to find out. I'm blessed to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) recently completed her enlistment on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Thomas this is a great place to brag as well! So join in, get active, and be sure to let us know how Erik is doing! Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind.   As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through. In the Navy Bootcamp group is a discussion called A MUST READ for all New Navy Parents. Read through this post as it will do a lot to give you some understanding about what your sailor is learning and why. And be sure to check out the videos available in the Bootcamp Group as well.
